Can’t keep calm coz Smashbox launched on Nykaa
There has always been a debate on whether to go with make-up or without make-up. If you seek my opinion I would say it is the radiant smile and the kick ass attitude that is the never-can-go-wrong make-up for women. But personally I have always been a make-up aficionado, and being a fashion influencer, I believe that the right make-up and hair styling can make or break your look. The right make-up can take your outfit a few notches higher while a bad make-up can turn your look into a nightmare! With spring right around the corner, it is the insinuation for updating with the Hair And Make-up Trends Spring-Summer 2017 and knowing exactly what to wear, when to wear and how to wear it!
Here’s our list of snazzy Hair And Make-up Trends Spring-Summer 2017 that is a must-know for all fashionistas!
Lipstick as Blush – Surprise, surprise isn’t it? But I am not much surprised with the trend especially when Lakme brought out it’s lip and cheek mousse range last year. This would also be helpful for those who don’t want to invest on a blush yet want a rosy flush on the cheeks. Already seen at Zero+ Maria Cornejo where two Shiseido lipsticks were fused to achieved a warm-toned blush effect!
Sparkle in Glitter – It’s time to sparkle like never before because glitter has been forecasted as the make-up trend for S/S 2017. Glitter lips might not be everyone’s cup of tea but glitter eye make-up and shimmering nails are quite wearable. We have seen Mahira Khan’s character from Raees creating a thunderbolt with her beautiful sparkling eye-make up. Take a cue from Marc Jacob and Fendi on how to perfect the art of glitter eyeshadow and glitter lips respectively. My suggestion would be to juxtapose glitter make-up with black or pastel-hued outfits to keep a check from going overboard!
Eighties vibe – Looks like it’s time for switching back to retro, at least fashion wise! Side swept curls, metallic eye make-up to lipstick-bright blush, being vintage is ‘in’ this season and I for one am rooting for this trend!
Wet-hair very very sexy – If you have been someone who loses time in blow-drying her hair after shower just before a date, this trend is certainly a life saver! Wet locks are wild, sensuous and bring out the inner free spirit. Seen at the Altuzarra show, don’t forget to don bold and dramatic earrings with your wet-o-wild hair to maximize the appeal. Cropped culottes, half-tucked shirt, suave moccasins and wet hair is one look that I recommend for your next casual brunch.
Bun-Plait – This summer if there is one trend that is convenient and versatile right from denim-on-denim look to twirling-pretty in tea-length dresses a bun plait will keep you spiffy and allow your neck to breathe in style! Kenzo, Erdem and Dior have shown us how to ace the bun plait look.
Unexpected colours – For those of you who never shy away from experimenting colours on eyebrows, ears and lips in dramatic shades this trend might make you sit and take notice. I agree that it’s not at all an easy make-up trend and most of you might give it a miss! But with Holi around the corner and the expected house parties, this avant-garde trend is not a far cry! Mary Katrantzou’s models were spotted in acid bright orange, pink and red lips whereas Nina Ricci went a step ahead with models donning glossy violet, aquamarine and tangerine hues on their eyelids!
Side parting – A vintage and preppy trend that works well with all kinds of outfits has to be the side sweep. But to dazzle things up, go for a bespoke embellished hair accessory and you are good to go for an intimate dinner. I also feel that the side parting is an ideal day-to-night look for the women on the go!
Smudged eye – If you are one of those who likes to steer clear of make-up yet you want something easy and spunky then smudged eyes should be your call! This is also convenient for those who find it hard to draw a neat contour of kohl or kajal! In my opinion smudged eyes would work best with boho-inspired looks or classic cotton handloom sarees. Take a cue from Balmain, Altuzarra, Rag & Bone and Christopher Kane for more inspirations.
So, those were the Hair And Make-up Trends Spring-Summer 2017. Which Hair And Make-up Trends Spring-Summer 2017 looks are your favorite? And which ones are you planning on trying this season?
